Project based learning

This method, embraced by organisations such as the National Academy Foundation and the New Tech Network helps develop deeper learning connections through engaging and authentic learning experiences. PBL requires students to explore complex, multifaceted problems or challenges for an extended period of time. Research has shown that this method improves student success, builds and develops essential skills and increases student engagement in learning.

Why Minecraft

Minecraft is THE game of this generation. It is much, much more than a ‘building game’. The Scientific American stated that “(Minecraft) is an excellent platform for making almost any subject more engaging.”

Education researchers have also discovered the educational value Minecraft holds. Associate Professor Michael Dezuanni from the Queensland University of Technology has seen some real success with student engagement, problem solving, design and creative work. “The teachers working with those students have been quite impressed with the ways in which students work with the game as well.”

Why GoE

Minecraft Education Edition is the perfect place to implement Project-Based Learning in your classroom. Game of Education (GoE) creates an environment for children of all ages to extend their learning experiences in almost any subject. We create meaningful, authentic and engaging learning worlds where students will become immersed in a quality educational environment.

We believe in the importance of collaborative work. Today, not many adults work in isolation, and employers are looking for staff who have the skills to effectively work in a team environment. Our content encourage true collaborative effort from the planning stage, right through to implementation of a project.

With GoE students are able to present their findings and discoveries to the class, at home or even publish them worldwide on YouTube or to the Minecraft educational community.

GOE encourages students to strive towards higher learning goals:

  • Highly educational - Almost every part of the curriculum can be taught using our program.
  • Extremely engaging - Minecraft is one of the best-selling games of all time. Students already use it, so why not harness its appeal for the classroom?
  • Collaborative - Students work together to create solutions, from the planning stage right through to completion of the project, consolidating real-world skills.
  • Self motivating - GoE’s content is designed from the ground up as project-based learning. Students choose their own projects and they love building on their skills within the program.

Merging it all together

The team at GoE passionately believes that quality, research-backed educational tools should be accessible to any student in any country around the world. It is within this ethos that we bring you our ideas and products. Garden World showed me lots of different kinds of flowers I’d never seen before. I loved learning about plants and I actually got to help them grow. At home I now help out in the garden more so because of it!

FairyTale world is my favorite place ever! Me and my friends live in the castle and we created our own story that we love to play in. There is so much to do in this world and me and my friends make new things there all the time.

I usually don’t enjoy math. In fact I thought at first it was boring and useless. But when I went to GoE’s Math World on Minecraft, I was interested to see how it works and couldn’t stop playing. l think I will get better grades after I complete it! Maybe math can be kind of awesome.

Playing the anatomy world is so interesting because I got to see what's inside our body and not just outside. I wasn’t so interested in the body before but learning it in Minecraft world was really cool.
